Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. offers an extensive continuum of behavioral health programs to children, adolescents and adults suffering from persistent and severe psychiatric disorders. PSI is the largest operator of owned or leased freestanding psychiatric inpatient facilities with approximately 11,000 beds in 32 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. PSI also manages freestanding psychiatric inpatient facilities and is the largest contract manager of psychiatric services within general acute care hospitals owned by others.
As an employer of more than 23,000, PSI provides a broad array of services and treatment settings. These services include psychopharmacology, nursing care, individual, family, group therapy and adjunct therapy, all directed by physicians and supported by a team of mental health professionals. Its continuum of programs features inpatient, residential, group home, partial hospitalization, outpatient, alternative schools, rehabilitation for chemical dependency, detoxification, therapeutic foster care and case management, and specialized programs for specific disorders.
In May 2005, PSI became a National Clinical Affiliate for The Jason Foundation. The Jason Foundation is a nationally recognized leader in educational programs for the awareness and prevention of youth suicide, which is currently the third leading cause of death among youth ages 15-24.
