Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. and PSI Patriot Support Sponsor 2009 Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — (Feb. 5, 2010) — Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) (NASDAQ:  PSYS) and its PSI Patriot Support program recently served as a corporate sponsor during the 2009 Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. With more than 41,000 in attendance, PSI raised awareness of behavioral health resources available to military members, Veterans and their families through its PSI Patriot Support programs offered across the nation.

Among many of the activities surrounding the bowl, the PSI Patriot Support program hosted a booth in the Armed Forces Adventure area where PSI employees from Millwood Hospital in Arlington, Texas, painted faces and distributed coloring books to children. Employees also had an opportunity to talk to attendees about the importance of the military and their families seeking help, when it is needed, to deal with the impact of combat and multiple deployments. PSI Patriot Support was also pleased to donate game day tickets to active military personnel.

“We are proud to partner with the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl to celebrate the accomplishments of these two teams, as well as communicate important messages to attendees about mental health,” said Andy Laning, executive director of military affairs for PSI. “Studies have shown that combat and multiple deployments not only affect these brave Warriors, but their families as well. The PSI Patriot Support program is committed to helping them cope with this and other stress-related issues with several military-specific services.”

Eight facilities are currently designated as PSI Patriot Support Centers and work with military installation commanders to tailor services that meet the needs of active duty service members. Additionally, there are 17 TRICARE certified residential treatment facilities ready to serve the behavioral health needs of children and families. As mental health services are required in other areas, additional hospitals will fall under the PSI Patriot Support umbrella.

PSI Patriot Support includes inpatient and outpatient programs to treat post-traumatic stress (PTS), depression, substance abuse and general anxiety disorders that may be part of the readjustment issues related to multiple active combat situations.
