Macon Behavioral Health System provides a full array of mental health, substance abuse and behavioral health care program services to both children and adolescents from ages 5-21. The center takes a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to the development of behavioral health care programs offering a continuum to include inpatient acute hospitalization, residential services, secure group home and CORE outpatient services. Macon Behavioral also offers free assessment and referral services. Counseling staff are available 24 hours a day, seven day a week.
Services/Programs
- Acute inpatient services in a 16-bed unit for patients ages 5-17 by a specialized staff with a multi-disciplinary approach to addressing psychiatric, behavioral and substance abuse issues in a safe, nurturing, therapeutic and child-friendly environment equipped for voluntary, involuntary and emergency admittance
- Highly specialized adolescent residential programs providing 24-hour care for a broad spectrum of issues such as psychiatric, behavioral and developmental delay by utilizing a unique therapies approach and behavior management component to assist adolescents in regulating their behaviors, managing anger and mood, and improving overall social functioning
- Residential services include secured specialized units, an accredited school on campus, medication management, nursing care, dietary consults, psycho-educational groups, vocational training, and recreational, individual, group and family therapy
- Full continuum of care for discharge planning, including partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient program, outpatient therapy and residential treatment programs
- Services provided by child and adolescent certified psychiatrists, licensed therapists, registered nurses, social work staff, dieticians, recreational therapists, psychologists, certified teachers and physicians
