Palmetto Pee Dee Behavioral Health has a long-standing reputation of treating children and adolescents with severe behavioral health issues. The 59-bed facility in Florence, S.C., is a system focused on positive outcomes. The facility's Residential Treatment Center is dedicated to providing longer-term psychiatric care for males and females, ages 7-21. The program was developed in an effort to provide patient care for those youth who have utilized acute, partial and outpatient services, but continue to demonstrate significant problems. All services are highly individualized and include a comprehensive array of therapeutic interventions designed to ameliorate serious behavioral and psychiatric issues. An intensive family component, including a family support specialist, is also available in addition to family therapy.
Services/Programs
- Palmetto Pee Dee BHC accepts children and adolescents experiencing psychiatric symptoms or those classified as severely emotionally disturbed. This includes youth who have a history PTSD and victimization, aggression, self-harm behaviors, sexually-reactive behaviors, substance abuse issues, suicidal or homicidal tendencies, psychotic features, mild to moderate MR, and developmental delays. Youth diagnosed with mild Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, and Asperger's Syndrome are also accepted.
