Atlantic Shores Hospital Aids in Haiti Disaster ReliefFORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – (Feb. 8, 2010) – Atlantic Shores Hospital is proud to announce a donation of $605 to the American Red Cross to aid the disaster relief efforts in Haiti. The funds were raised through a hospital employee fundraiser. With many Atlantic Shores employees having relatives and friends in Haiti, the facility decided to host its own disaster relief drive to assist those affected by the recent earthquake. CEO Michael McDonald was humbled by his staff’s generosity. “I am very proud to have such a caring and compassionate staff,” said McDonald. “While we strive to provide outstanding patient care to those in need in our local community, it is touching to know that our staff would devote their personal resources to assist those individuals affected by the recent tragic events in Haiti.” McDonald presented the $605 check to the local chapter of the American Red Cross on Feb. 5. Cariann Moore, Director of Donor Relations for the American Red Cross Broward County Chapter, was appreciative of the donation. “The American Red Cross is very thankful for this gracious donation from Atlantic Shores Hospital,” said Moore. “These funds will aid in our effort to support the citizens of Haiti as they recover from this unspeakable tragedy.” The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement. Its mission is to provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. About Atlantic Shores Hospital About Psychiatric Solutions, Inc.
